Politics is many parts of the world is founded on democracy. Democracy is a system based on majority in which the key question is “Do most of us agree?”. In a democracy 51% of the people may govern over 49% of the people. Governments generally rely on the mechanisms of force and loss e.g. using force to impose losses such as fines, prison, personal injury and death. That said, some governments also apply the additional mechanisms of connection and benefit e.g. using connection to offer benefits such as ideas, suggestions, stories and resources. Sociocracy is a system based on consent in which the key question is “Do any of us object?”.
